I love Essie’s latest collection, Mirror Mirror. We’re in the middle of Summer’s bright, colourful and sometimes neon nail polish collections. So it’s nice to see an entire collection devoted to metallics. Good as Gold caught my eye first, as I’ve been looking for a nice gold polish. I also picked up No Place like Chrome, and Penny Talk. I’m debating going back to get the other two polishes of the collection, to have the complete set.
Good as Gold is perfect. With a hint of tan, it would look even better against my skintone. As with all metallics, application can be difficult. Make sure you use a ridge filler basecoat to ease application. A little bit of buffing wouldn’t go amiss, as chrome polishes have a tendancy to show every nail imperfection.
The formula itself is lovely. A one coater – two if you’re obssesive like me. Even the brushstrokes are minimal. Gorgeous.
