I really surprised myself by picking up this hair mask as Herbal Essences isn’t a brand that normally appeals to me. They’re shampoos and conditioners always left my hair feeling weighed down. This little orange tub was the only treatment left in my bathroom cupboard, so bravely I tried it out during our recent little Indian Summer.
The mask smells lovely, very much like the rest of the range, or any Herbal Essences’ products. It’s thick, creamy you get a generous 200ml in a tub and it caters for dry, damaged and frizzy hair. Application is easy, just smooth through wet hair after shampooing and wait 5 minutes before rinsing.
The results? Impressive. Soft, sleek and shiny hair. The effect lasts through the nest wash too, which is a bonus. The silicones in this product will help protect against further damage and seal split ends. Eventually you will get build-up, but this is easily solved by using a clarifying shampoo. But overall I really do like this mask. The only negative I can think of is that this product feels more like a ‘quick fix’ rather than a deep conditioning treatment that’ll improve my hair in the long run. However it is definately heavier and more effective than your average conditioner.
It’s available for around the £4 mark at most supermarkets, Boots and Superdrug.
